OUR ANIMAL AMBASSADORS

All the animals at ZOO TO YOU are TRUE ambassadors.
They travel to schools to meet students and help us to teach about conservation.
They all have their own individual stories of how they came to be living
with us at ZOO TO YOU.
We are so lucky to share our lives with them and share them with others.

If you would like to help them, by contributing to their care or maybe send
them a toy please go to our donations page, and find out how you can help.

David Jackson
CEO
CONSERVATION AMBASSADORS
When not out with the animals on the road and doing educational presentations David is busy keeping the business end together. This company was started from a dream of David and Anita.  David keeps everyone on track, sticking to the original mission of Conservation Ambassadors. When things need to be built around the facility David gets the job done!  David has a unique way with animals that shows in the deep bonds they have with him.

Katelyn Cottle
Curator
Katelyn, known to friends as KC, started her career with Zoo To You through an internship, and proved too valuable to be let go! She will graduate with a B.S. in Animal Science with a concentration in Wildlife Conservation from Cal Poly in the Spring of 2011, and is excited to continue to lead the wonderful team of zookeepers at Zoo To You, as well as maintain her current position as Rehabilitation Supervisor at Pacific Wildlife Care, a local wildlife rehabilitation facility. Learning to horseback ride at the age of 5, KC has been inspired by animals her entire life, and wants nothing more than to learn to save and preserve the wonderful creatures around us. In her free time, KC enjoys gardening, painting and making her own jewelry, as well as riding her own horse around zoo property!

Jana Blacksmith
Keeper
Over a decade ago Jana’s first experience with Zoo to You was as an audience member at her elementary school right here on the Central Coast. Since then, her desire to work with animals has taken her all the way to Washington where she participated in an internship at a wildlife rehabilitation center. Most recently she graduated from Cal Poly with a degree in Animal Science and is now thrilled to be working with Zoo to You. When she’s not working Jana is out exploring the outdoors, hiking, rock climbing, and catching glimpses of bears and bobcats in the wild!

erin Erin Belleville
Keeper

Erin was young when she started working with animals, and hasn't slowed down! From riding horses before she could walk, to working as a vet tech all through high school. She also has completed two exciting marine mammal internships: Dolphin Quest Bermuda and the Navy Marine Mammal Program. Erin is finishing her degree in Animal Science at Cal Poly, and is very excited to apply her animal training experience as part of Zoo To You's zookeeper team. When Erin is not working with animals at work or school, she loves to spend time with her own pets and friends, and enjoys house boating and waterskiing with her family.

Jennifer Lafountain
Supervisor of Birds of Prey Area at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg
As a senior biology student at James Madison University Jennifer took an ornithology course as an elective with no real intention of making a career out of it. However, after a year of waking up before any college student should to search the forests of the Shenandoah Mountains for birds, she reconsidered! In 2008, she joined the ZootoYou team at the Birds of Prey area at Busch Gardens Europe in Williamsburg, VA. Being a local to the area, Jennifer has been coming to the park with her parents since she was a child. She can remember quite a few times being dragged away from the animal areas. Training and caring for the bald eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls is truly a dream job. More importantly she now gets to educate and excite children about animals just like she was.

Angeline Scotten
Trainer at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg
Born and raised in Jupiter, Florida. She volunteered and was employed at the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary for about 10 years as a wildlife educator. In 2009, she graduated from the University of Tennessee with her bachelors of science degree in wildlife & fisheries science with a concentration in wildlife management, and her minor in forestry. While attending UT, she worked as an intern for research projects concerning warblers in the Cumberland Mountains and shrubland/grassland bird species in Arkansas and Missouri. She has been living in Gloucester, VA, since graduation. She worked for Zoo to You in Williamsburg, VA briefly last year and just began working with them again in June. Her hobbies include hunting and fishing with her fiancee, Jay, as well as gardening, birdwatching and horseback riding.
